Future of Hospitality Sector in Bharat
The sharpest business minds in the country are today eyeing the future of hospitality sector in Bharat, which is right on the verge of an unprecedented boom. While there was not much emphasis and scope for hospitality in the past, its demand has been rapidly growing in recent times. There are many trends and indicators of its growth in the last few years, which clearly showcase the roadmap of making our country a hub for the hospitality sector. Yet, most people are either unaware about this field altogether or refuse to invest in it.
Here are a few signs that show the future of hospitality sector in Bharat and the areas where it will create the most impact.
Growing hospitality needs in tourism
Bharat is becoming a major tourism hub of not just Asia but the entire world. Tourists from all over the world have begun visiting the innumerable tourist destinations in the country in large numbers, and it is thus time for us to start investing heavily in the future of hospitality sector. Luxury five-star hotels are one of the finest examples of hospitality. Many tourists are willing to spend extra money for a lavish stay at whichever destination they are visiting.
While all the major cities like Mumbai or Delhi have luxurious hotels, emerging tourist destinations that are not currently in the top spots do not have places to experience a luxurious stay. This is only one of the many examples where our hospitality sector can grow by leaps and bounds. Anyone who is looking to make smart investments must put their money into such hospitality-related business opportunities, no matter how big or small, with all the necessary due diligence that is required in this field.
Heightened purchasing power of middle class
Earlier, hospitality was only considered affordable by the elite income group, with little to no higher scope in Bharat, which has seen decades of extreme poverty. A crushing majority of Bharat’s 1.4 billion population falls under the middle class, lower middle class, and poor category. The government is rightfully prioritising lifting people out of poverty, which will automatically increase the number of middle-class people in the country. On the other hand, the current middle class is also finding more areas like the stock market and bank investments like Fixed Deposits and SIPs, which will yield big results in the long run.
Factors like these will collectively increase the strength and spending capacity of the middle class, which will directly impact the hospitality sector. People will seek a better standard of living and consequently seek out the goods and services available in the hospitality sector. Given that an overwhelming bunch of the population will be willing to spend more money on the best quality products and services, the future of hospitality sector of this country is bound for a boom.
Increasing road, rail, and air connectivity
There are many tourist attractions in Bharat apart from the mainstream places like Taj Mahal in Agra or the Red Fort in Delhi. But one of the main reasons why such places haven’t become major tourist destinations yet is because of a lack of connectivity. Northeastern states like Sikkim are blessed with natural beauty but could not become tourism hubs because of this reason. However, Bharat is today deploying huge reserves of its annual budget on infrastructure and connectivity across the country. This is going to be perhaps the single biggest catalyst in the rise of the hospitality sector.
We are building high-quality expressways connecting tier-2, tier-3 cities across states, which will enable tourists to travel by road. On the other hand, Bharat is also building several airports that will boost domestic travel like never before, as well as increase international travel in their respective regions. But given that not everyone may be able to afford air travel, Bharat is also creating and launching its own high-speed luxury trains that will not only take the load off air and road travel but also provide extreme comfort, unlike the olden trains. This will build the foundations of the bright future of hospitality sector in Bharat.
Power of social media
As I mentioned before, there are many natural and man-made wonders in Bharat that will leave you in awe. Along with the connectivity problems, another big reason why such destinations never blossomed into tourism hubs is because of a lack of awareness and marketing. We as a nation have always promoted only a select number of tourist destinations as the trademark of Bharat’s tourism, which was a big mistake. Our tourism is much bigger than only Taj Mahal, the Red Fort, or the Gateway of India. From the north to the south, the west to the northeast, Bharat is blessed with world-class tourist spectacles.
But today, we have the power of social media. Bharat has hundreds of millions of social media users across the nation who can share glimpses of such places on Facebook, Instagram, X, and other platforms. It is up to us to spread such content and make it viral on these apps so that tourists within the country and around the world become increasingly aware of these places. You may have seen some ‘travel influencers’ on social media that reveal the different places they visit as well as the travel and stay costs. In simple words, we need many such videos and content from many different tourist spots to go viral on social media. This will likely prove to be a big game-changer for the future of hospitality sector in Bharat.
Conclusion
Just like any other sector, the hospitality sector will only grow when multiple big and small factors collectively play a role in it. A rapidly developing nation like Bharat has unparalleled scope in this sector, and it is thus the right time to invest in it. While many of us expect early returns on our investments, these investments may take a few years to bring in those returns. But their sheer scale will be big enough to turn your life around. All it needs from you is to start investing in it today after thorough research and being absolutely patient with the results. As the old saying goes – “As you sow, so shall you reap.”
